Privacy Policy
Effective Date: June 17, 2026
At Project Stanley, your privacy is our core engineering foundation. Unlike cloud-based scraper networks that funnel your credentials, browsing habits, and target pages through third-party servers, Stanley operates **entirely locally** on your own computer.
1. Local Execution & Data Privacy
All browser automation workflows, clicks, text extractions, and form submissions are orchestrated directly inside your Chrome browser and Node.js daemon.
- We **do not** collect, store, or transmit your automated task prompts, script outputs, or target website URLs.
- Your credentials and active browsing sessions remain safely sandboxed inside your local Chromium profiles.
- All automated actions are executed utilizing your local IP address.
2. Permissions Justification
The Project Stanley browser extension requests only the minimum set of permissions necessary to function:
Allows the extension to interact with the currently active webpage you trigger it on. This permission restricts the extension's visibility to only the tabs you choose to automate.
Used to securely store your subscription authentication status and credentials (such as local ID tokens) inside the browser's local sandbox so you stay logged in.
Enables the sandboxed extension to connect securely with your locally installed desktop daemon wrapper host. This pipe is necessary to trigger Playwright actions on your machine.
3. Third-Party Services
We use a minimal number of trusted service providers solely for payment management and subscription validation:
- Firebase Authentication & Firestore: Used to check your account creation status and verify subscription status.
- Stripe: Handles processing of your monthly subscription payments securely. We do not store or process your financial card details.
4. Your Control & Rights
Since all automation configurations and local state reside on your device, you have complete control over them. You can wipe all local sessions and settings at any time by signing out or uninstalling the extension.
